My Story

Music Background - My love of music developed at the young age of four, when I started playing piano. Shortly after, I expanded my repertoire to include singing, when I started taking voice lessons at the age of six. This excitement and passion for music was fueled throughout school, where I participated in musicals, joined choirs and competed in music festivals. Once I became a teenager, I played piano and sang in our church located in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan, while also accompanying solo instrumentalists and working towards her Associate Diploma in Piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music.  After achieving a performance Associate and building a piano studio with over 50 students, I later had the privilege of touring and performing with Amanda Stott, Bobby Curtola, and Tara Lyn Hart.  I love to perform and currently play and sing at dueling piano events, senior lodges and at private and corporate functions across Alberta.

Teaching Background - My career as a piano teacher began at the age of 15 when I started teaching beginner level piano. At the age of 21, I finished my Associate Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto and then went on to open my private music studio in 1986 in Brandon, Manitoba. I then moved to Red Deer, Alberta and founded, directed and taught the Rock Bank program at the Hunting Hills High School in Red Deer and rebuilt my private studio in Red Deer and St. Alberta to teach piano, voice and performance. I currently have 50 students, that span as a young as age four and all the way up to adults.
